UnFOURgettably 4 Friday!

Still living the safer at home life on our end. Missing that Northern crew like crazy. I think the Bee has grown 4 inches. I continue to read and work puzzle as well as watch TV to pass the time. We take drives every few days and with pooled resources we are stocked with provisions and feel we are doing quite well. Continuing to practice social distancing and good hand hygiene. We have also taken to wearing facial coverings, our buffs, not masks. They are hot, don't stay up all that well but they serve the purpose.

In other news it is Man vs Bird at the Meadow. Birds have been an issue since we moved in. They have wanted to nest on our outdoor light fixtures so we placed a deterrent and that has worked well.  We also got a rubber snake. Now they are trying to nest on our back patio in the guttering. They also attempted to nest in the new garage guttering. Handy dandy products to block them have been working on the new garage. As for the porch we moved the rubber snack from the front porch to the back and we have even purchased an owl. Neither seem to be working all that well. What has been working is our persistent knocking down the nest in progress. So every morning it has become my ritual to go outside, usually in pajamas, no less, to knock down the beginnings of a nest. Lately the maker has been a bit outraged and lets us know. It's been funny, but not. I feel bad, but I DO NOT want a nest. They poop all over as they fly in and out so NO NEST wanted! After my initial knock down MiRV takes over. We keep tabs all morning; going out to ward off more nest making attempts and knock down what might have snuck through. It's a tough battle!

The mess we wake up to and the start of a new nest nearly every morning...

We knock it down, clean it up and watch for more action.

It's been quite serious trying to deter this nest making!

Stay safe, stay well, stay home!

UnFOURgettably 4 Friday!

Still walking through the Covid-19 safer at home Pandemic. Our little piece of the world now has 4 confirmed cases. We are quite a rural community. We are a small town. We are doing our part to not be any part of spreading this thing. While I am thrilled we aren't suffering a massive outbreak I fear that we really haven't seen the worst of it. My concern is that things are going to start "getting back to normal" and we will be hit hard. I am not sure the right answer for forward progress of opening our country back up but I know I am still staying safe at home for the time being.

Happy to see more Spring in our yard.

Our hosta plant is also coming up. Not sure the lilac bush start survived or our rosemary plants. But the iris bulbs that I feared would not make it are flourishing. They look lovely out back blowing in the breeze. Hope to add a few more  beauties to our struggling little yard this year as we try to make it more appealing.

Stay safe, stay home!

Easter

I cannot remember an Easter when we did not attend church service. Sometimes even a sunrise service. This year 'attending' church was not an option. Thank you Covid-19. However, thankfully, there were plenty of livestreams, youTubes or podcast to help still celebrate the day. So while the format and feel of our Easter was not like any other. I mean we had an awesome home cooked Italian meal that was very yummy but it was just the two of us. Never mind, the important point is that the message did not and will not ever change. The tomb was empty. Jesus IS alive.

Have hope friends, cling tight to the vine and pray. Pray for our nation, our leaders, our medical personnel. Pray for your family, your friends and neighbors.

Stay safe, stay home.

UnFOURgettably 4 Friday!

We are doing life in such an unconventional way lately. It is totally unique and oddly strange. Some parts are a sort of welcome change and yet other areas just are not.  Doing some reading, lots of puzzles and too much TV. Oh my! Some purging, cleaning, sorting, too.

Stay strong, stay safe, STAY HOME!

UnFOURgettably 4 Friday!

Undeniably, we MISS the family...especially the Little Ones.

Been trying to stay active during this "safer at home" season so it always makes me smile when I start and end seeing these faces.

It's not an easy time for so many right now so count your blessings instead of your woes. There are so many who are going through a much harder time, living a more intense life and we need to be selfless as we live out this Covid-19 outbreak. Life will get back to normal or maybe there will be a new normal and this will be in our rearview mirrior. Try for a big picture attitude and carryon the best you can.

Stay safe, stay home!
