And she's a MRS...

So much I could say about the day but suffice to say it happened. Yes, there are things I would do differently and things I would change, but the end result is that she did become M.R.S. Bud so it's all good!

From the ride to the church in the RV to the superhero boxers and cowboy boots it was pretty much all her all the way...

 This is truly soooooo her!

It was truly one of THOSE memorable days that will long be in our memories!

The reception was really nice as well and we enjoyed all the family being there! So glad everyone was able to make the trip!

The tables had lots of candles and plenty of white roses!!!

First dance for the newly announced Mr. & Mrs. Bud

And those white roses, ummm ALL 200 of them, were absolutely gorgeous, really beautiful, yes they were...and plentiful! :D

Oh me, oh my!

I am not THE crafty one, but when it's a must I can rise to the occasion. So that is what I have been up to...crafting, so to speak.

Evidence of how I have been spending my days, and nights, and days as of late. I am glad they are D.O.N.E!

This is the only pictorial evidence I have, there were other projects as well, drink bases and  ring bearer pillow to name a few. Then let's NOT forget the invitations I worked on in May, noooooo way, please do not forget those!!!

The invites...

So this is what has filled my days and nights for a few days now!

Road Trip

Today we were so pleased to be able to attend the Change of Command for a really great guy, former neighbor and true friend! When we arrived at BAFB two years ago this was the very first official function we attended. Turns out we would be neighbors with this commander, become friends and thoroughly enjoy our times together. It was only fitting that we make it back to his Change of Command as he transitions out and heads off to VA. A sort of last act, closing the book sort of thing for us and him! So we made the drive back down to LA on Tuesday and now we are already on our way back to the BIG O as I type! I am exhausted and we still have miles to go...but oh so worth it! Would have been fun to stick around a little longer but the soon to be new M.R.S. is signing for the new apartment tomorrow and we need to get back and help with the move in!

A good looking bunch!!

Oh and some things will just NEVER change!!! It was a constant error and even in retirement continues...

There is only ONE L in our last name, ONE!

Cake Tasting!!!

Yes, please, take me!

I was so ready for this aspect of the wedding planning! As in SIGN ME UP now, I certainly want to take part in this!! LOL

So tonight we made our way to the cake ladies house and tried three different samples of cake. I immediately knew my choice, however, since it's not my day I deferred until the bride voiced her opinion and then concurred! There will be white cake with butter cream icing at the reception! YUMMMMMMMY :) For those who need chocolate there will be options. Chocolate cupcakes with chocolate sprinkles will be available. There, now, everyone should be happy! I am so glad we have finally have this worked out.

And for the record we also sampled chocolate cake and almond with raspberry filling (which WAS tasty) along with the traditional white, which was the winner!

This is a mock up of what the cake will look like...

It's OFFICIALLY begun!

Late last week we obtained our new ID cards that officially show that MiRV is retired, but TODAY is THE official's a bit of a jolt but it's also very freeing. What are our plans you say. NOTHING! This month is totally focused on the wedding for the future Mrs. Bud.

Nothing else even on the scope for the next 27 days, other then a quick road trip back to LA for a CoC. Obviously, it's a special someone or we wouldn't make the time and spend the cash to go. Being "retired" will change our lifestyle a great deal. Thankfully, we have been abundantly blessed and have a reserve fund until we land our next career. When we first arrived LA this one was the first CoC we attended, turned out he was one of our new EastSide neighbors and we just hit it off. Seems fitting that we attend his CoC as a kind of bring it full circle for us.

For those of you with much deeper wanderings we really do not have a plan. We continue to live in our 31 foot of bliss. It's working out just fine and this remains our plan for the next several months. Where we go next is totally up in the air. We would indeed like to end up in Florida, or so we think. We are realistic and know that a job is going to be needed at some point, but thankfully, that is not an immediate need so we are taking it slow and trying to explore many options. We are also just enjoying being without very many demands or obligations. It's been really nice.

Stay tuned as we start this new journey...honestly, I am not sure how often or at what pace I will blog now. I am working to figure out this new lifestyle and how and if a blog will fit for me. I have to say I do enjoy the blog for my own selfish, personal reasons as it allows me to document our story, however, I am not totally sure it will be a good fit. So for now, it's going to be a wait and see how it goes approach.

Meanwhile I leave you with these is good here at the base lake!

 Beautiful sunsets nearly every night...
