Latest...

Goodness, time certainly never crawls when you are living life...been doing that lately; no doubt about it!

Football, birthdays, burn piles, cheer, a chicken, err I mean rooster and steri-strips round out this weeks happenings unless I forgot something which is entirely possible but these are the highlights!

We started off with a clear, pleasant mild day perfect for burning, so we did just that; after obtaining permission ,of course, as this burn was inside the city limits! It was a pretty good pile and we just kept adding to it throughout the day. Things continue to look really nice around the Tower homestead!

We have of course have had football and there was also a little cheer to go with that football this week! Go Team Go! Keeping our chin up after suffering our first loss. There's always ext week!
#61 and our cheerer doing their thing...

Then there was that little minor accident that was totally freak... It could have been so much worse but as it was it was pretty darn crummy. Thankfully the sink stopper was in when MiRV reached across the sink to retrieve his wallet. The cover was down and exploded underneath the very little weight of his arm. He had a nice couple of cuts that we cleaned up and steri-stripped and moved on. A vacuum made the clean up easier but it was still a mess, a big one; however, as I mentioned the sink stopper being in place helped tremendously as we know none of the glass went down the drain and will not be a concern of messing the macerator up when we dump!

 UGHhhhhh~

Not that we are looking for a new pet as we aren't really pet people but there is a Rhode Island Red roaming around my folks neighborhood. It's been there for a few weeks now with no apparent home and seems to have taken up residence mostly in their area. Littles originally named said chicken Lucy but we have since renamed to Ricky since MiRV (and google) did confirm it is a he not a she. Much to my parents dismay he's quite the crower, too.
Ricky The Rooster!

We rounded out the weekend with a birthday dinner and cake. YUM! Love the Big Buzz and french fries at the local BBQ joint, always good. Enjoyed coconut cake afterwards that was really a treat. Happy, happy to the birthday girl!

Wedesday Words - Flaubert

"Travel makes one modest. You see what a tiny place you occupy in the world.”
– Gustave Flaubert

I truly believe this and think all should get outside their homeland it's extremely eye opening.

Spare Time

I know you probably don't realize it but I do have spare time every know and again. Lately, since we were at my folks A LOT I have been cropping. That's a scrap booking term. I have totally been consumed with trying to "catch up" our albums. After giving serious thought to going digital I was swayed into not doing so by the daughter and a second sister. Fine, but that means get on it and get caught up. I have been doing for the past month or so since we have been back in MO. I have even motivated others to get more organized and get pages done! Yeah for me!

Sorting the patterned paper is a BIG job...

I have now finished 2010, 2011, 2014; I am working on the daughter's wedding album, currently selecting pictures for 2012 and 2013 as well as trying to organize and select 2015 pictures. It is no small task. And honestly, it's very time consuming but overall I do enjoy it. At this point the goal is get pics in books. They may not be quite as cute and creative as some in years past but pictures will be in books and the journaling should be enough to tell the story pretty accurately if memories fade. I struggle with the journaling but I do try!.

Working on 2014!

I had started the daughter's wedding album and then had to halt that project due to a paper need...as of last week paper need has been solved so I will pick that back up now that 2014 is in the books, well it will be when Hobby Lobby puts their pages and protectors on sale. It's done just not officially in the book yet! Gotta love sales it makes this hobby affordable for me!

Thankfully, right now I have finished sorting our digital pictures into folders for organization purposes and will just be waiting on a 10c print sale at Walgreen's. Though I have several prints already printed that hopefully will keep me busy until they have a sale again! At least that is my plan, if not I will get a little break in my cropping. There are plenty of other projects going on that I can jump to and still keep busy!

Band on the Run 5K

Who's idea was this? Oh, right, mine! What was I thinking?

All I can honestly say is it's done and I got the T-shirt...whew, and I'm glad that's overwith! And for the record the course was LONGER than a 5K. I KNEW it, too! it was 3.44 and when you are a non runner that matters!

Winner!!!

However, the real runner in the family took first place in his age group, WOOHOO for him.

Homecoming

Who doesn't like a parade? Even if it's sprinkling a tiny bit a parade can brighten your day!

Today we went and watched the NHS Homecoming parade. Really! Partly just for something fun to do, the people watching was INCREDIBLE, and partly cause we knew the Grand Marshall pretty well and wanted to be supportive.
WooHoo for the Super Bee being such a sweet ride!

We also knew a band kid!

It was a fine time watching the people and the parade! Nice to see the community support.

Then we followed up later in the evening by attending the football game. That didn't really turn out so well as there was a weather delay, we decided to go home rather then wait it out, so Nevada was in the lead at the delay but not sure how it turned out.

The band performance at half-time was interesting and since we know a band kid that was cool. And I must say the Tigers played much better ball tonight: MUCH better. They have improved significantly.

Well, that it for another exciting installment of MO fun!

MO productivity!

Yes, we are still in MO and still busy. There is always something to be done no matter the day or weather. It's been quite lively in our world and we haven't minded a bit. A body in motion stays in motion...or at least that's what the commercial said, LOL! Our bodies have definitely been in motion though the day after that motion is sometimes slower :)

And who knew September would be so stinkin' hot! Crikey, it's been warm!

A few pictures from the last few days...

Tree trimming...we are NOT professionals but we get the job done!

GO #61!!!

LOOOOOOOONG phone calls from the daughter ALWAYS make my day....

Gate installer...you just never know what you will be doing around here!

Ticked Off

We've had the noseeums in Florida, Mosquitos in Wyoming and chiggers right here in Missouri, last year the chiggers were horrible as was the poison ivy. This year just a few chigger but oh my, the ticks, they are abundant and I'm sooooo over the said ticks! Seriously, every time we go south we come home with these buggers. And not just one or even two, it's like 7-8, 10 or 12 or more.

I honestly pray we do not "get" anything from these minute pest. They are so stinkin tiny! I'm paranoid and somewhat fearful but also know you unfortunately cannot live in a bubble. In the meantime we will continue to spray ourselves, do tick checks and bag the ones we pull off! Ugh!

Wednesday Words - Unknown

We all live in glass houses, and no one has clean windows.

I don't know who said it but ain't it the truth...
